Text Module with a Big Picture

This is a relatively new module in the squidoo arsenal. You may not have noticed it because they slip in new modules all the time. If you haven’t checked out the “all modules” section lately, you should. There’s tons of new stuff in there. Today I thought we’d show you the text module with a big picture.

I had a question today asking how to put a bigger picture in a lens.

So here are a few options:

1. grab the image and host it somewhere like photobucket.com ~ then use the html code to insert it in your post. Make sure to add “align=”right” (or left) to align your images and have your text wrap around the image.  This goes in right before the alt=”your alt text” piece of code.

2. Use the poloroid module.

If you want just a big picture you can use the poloroid module. Make sure you use some keyword in the caption.

3. Use the text with a big picture module.

We’re going to do a quick walk through of this module now.  You can find it in the all modules button at the top of your lens. Then you want to go to “all modules” and click the T for text module.

If you click the + sign next to the module then it will show up on your lens once you save. It will appear at the bottom, so scroll on down.

From there it works exactly the same as a text module. Your image will just appear larger than it does in other text modules.  You don’t even have to add text if you just want the image to show up.

The thing about this module though, is the image is just an image, just like when you do it in a text module. It can not be turned into an image that links to another site unless you do it with html. So it is just like the poloroid module in that respect, all you are getting is an image.

If  you want to link your images you are going to have to host them somewhere and use html to create the link.

Hope that helsp you fancy up your lenses a little. Cuz like squidoo says

    Hi Jackie,

Could you tell me if you have to host your images on PhotoBucket, Flickr, or another hosting site in order to use them on your website or lens?

I mean, if I have the images on my personal computer and upload them into the Squidoo image module, does my computer have to be on all the time in order for people to see those images on my lens?

    Thank you,
    Jo Ann

    Hi Jo Ann -

Anytime there is a ‘browse’ button (this module has one - you see them in forums a lot too) - that means that you are actually uploading the image to the site you’re working on.

Once you’re done editing and have saved or published your lens, you can definitely turn off your computer.

    Thanks for the question!
    Andrea
