Creating links back to your niche sites and lenses is very important. This is what gives your sites credibility with Google. If another site is willing to link to you, you must be pretty good right?

Think about yourself , when you share sites with other people, it’s because they are good right? Same applies here. However, we are getting a jump on things and building some links ourselves (at least until everyone else finds our amazing site or lens and starts sharing it with everyone they know ;)

Blogger.com is a great place to start this process. It is easy to understand, quick to get started and best of all free.

Here is a quick video to show you how to start a blog at blogger.com

I have a question. I’ve done some lenses on a topic about which I don’t know much. Because of that I don’t feel very comfortable starting a blog. What are the alternatives? Suggestions? Recommendations?

    Hi Jane -

I’m guessing that you’re talking about the blogger blog step in the One Week Marketing program?

Don’t think of it as a traditional blog - it’s purpose is primarily for linking. Treat it like a series of several articles (one for each lens) and be certain to link out with the correct keyword. It’s just a place to store your content, don’t let the name scare ‘ya. :)
