How The Heck Do I Use This Squeeze Page Template??
So you did a little “Googling” and found yourself a squeeze page template. Now what?? How do you get your new squeeze page to hook up with your autoresponder and work with your information? All good questions.
Get an Html Editor
The first thing you’re going to need is an html editor, you can get a good one for free. Just google html editor. I use Coffee Cup. You can get the free trial version of coffee cup here.
Once you install and open your editor you will need to open the template you want to use within the editor.
Once the template is open you can change the headlines, the bullet points, and all the information within the template
Make sure you focus on benefits the READER will receive if they opt in to your list.
Do you have an autoresponder?
Once you have the wording the way you want it, you will have to add the form from your autoresponder. If you don’t yet have an autoresponder you will need one. We use Get Response. You can take a look at it here.
You will need to set up a campaign for this list in your autoresponder. Once you have it set up you will need to grab the html code for this campaign. In Get Response you can find that under subscribers –> build my subscriber list –> capture subscribers. Follow the instructions and then grab all the code it provides.
Go ahead and copy it, then paste it into a text document (notepad or something similar) just so you have it later.
Next you want to go back to the html editor. You will have to go into html mode for this part. It will most likely ask you if you want to save what’s there, just say yes.
Once in html mode you will want to look for the piece of code that says <form> you want to highlight that piece of code, all the way to </form> then click paste ~ which will take out the code in the template and enter your own code from your autoresponder.
Take a look and you should have a nice looking opt in page.
Upload to your server
1. Create a directory for it to go in. Call it something related to your topic ~ keywords are always nice.
2. name your opt in box index.html
3. open your FTP, and upload the page you just named index.html into the directory you just created.
You should now be able to enter the url for your opt in page and see it live.
If this sounds just way too complicated for you, or you just don’t want to mess with the hosting we’ve found a service where you can create and host your squeeze pages. No html editor, just point, click, and type.
If you have trouble with the “tech stuff” we highly recommend you check this out. Takes all the “tech” out of
creating and hosting squeeze pages.
