How Does Zimbio Work

I’ve had some questions about Zimbio recently and thought I’d address them here so everyone can benefit.

What is Zimbio?

Zimbio is a social site ~ actually it’s an online magazine that allows everyone to publish to the magazine. Each area of the magazine is called a wikizine. You can import any RSS feed and add it to the wikizines already available or you can even create your own wikizine if you can’t find one that fits what you are doing.

I can’t find a resource box ~ where do I put my links?

Zimbio is different than other places you may be using. It actually pulls your content right from the page it is on and brings the links with it. All you need to do is add your RSS feed and then make sure you “articles” or posts in your feeds are getting posted to relevant wikizines.

Did that sound like greek? I can understand that. It did to me at first as well.  Here’s a quick video to walk you through the process of how to use  Zimbio.

It is really worth using Zimbio. It ranks well in the search engine and may get ranked or higher placement in search engine results than your main site.

I had a friend who had a lens on a topic. Her lens was number 2 for her main keyword and her zimbio listing was #3. All the sudden her lens started jumping around as they do. However, her zimbio listing stayed steady and strong. Even though her lens was gone from the search engine results her Zimbio was there and she kept getting traffic (and sales.)

If you aren’t familiar with Zimbio it’s definitely worth checking out and adding some of your RSS feeds for a little extra exposure.
