Affiliate Marketing Question ~ Can I Use a Blog for Affiliate Marketing?

We  recently received the question:

Can I use a blog for affiliate marketing?

It’s a good question and the short answer is yes! Absolutely!

The longer answer is make sure you are filling your blog with quality content that is going to help your reader ~ first ~ before you add links or even think about adding links, think about and create quality content.

When you have quality content you can then think about recommending other things that will support or help your reader finish or understand what you’re talking about.

If  you start your blog with an affiliate product in mind and simply write content to sell that product it will be pretty easy for readers to see that’s exactly what you’re doing. Most people don’t like to be sold ~ and are looking for information when they come online.

However, if  you provide good quality content, and tell them this resource might be helpful for what they are doing, they won’t have a problem spending the money. Once your content is created and  you have other quality  resources to recommend you can start adding links to those resources/products  in your content, of course those can be affiliate links.

It’s always a good idea to recommend things you have actually used or experienced. Your recommendation will come through much more believable, and you’ll have experience to draw from when explaining why it is helpful.

On your blog you can create different categories, each of these categories can be a different element of your niche, or you can set it up to separate different pieces of a project ~ whatever works best for you, but there are elements built into a blogging platform that make it a fantastic way to build an affiliate business.
