WE have changed our default settings, now it’s time to get ready to upload things to our new site. We are going to do this with FTP. We are going to use a very simple FTP program that is easy to use and understand. Don’t worry we’ll walk you through the whole thing!

Hi Lucille -
It looks like fireFTP changed things around a little last update - I’ve just replaced that first image with a screenshot of the current version.
See if that helps any better?
Andrea
PS. Wordpress has also changed things around, so when you get to those lessons, just holler if we haven’t gotten them updated yet and we’ll do it for you, k?

Can’t seem to get FireFTP. I download, and click install, but it never comes up and I can’t find it anywhere.

When I clicked connect, up came a little window with enter login information. The info was alreasdy there, but when I clicked ok it onle disappeared momentarily. Couldn’t get it to go away, so finally just Xed it out. Should this happen?

Not sure - were you able to connect to your hosting account? (did the right side of your browser show files and folders like the left?)

Can’t connect to ftp host. Not in new site nor in old site )so I know ID and pass are ok). no net connection problems. Have even tried a different ftp program. everything seems ok with Fantastico, and ok with word press today. Suggestion?

Check with your hosting company, make sure they didn’t reset something yesterday while fixing the last issue.

Hi Faye -
Try just this bit:
http://ftp.heartbreak-healing.com
Then navigate to the WP install (/blog) by clicking the + sign next to your public_html folder
You’ll need to click the + sign next to the blog folder to expose the WP folders.
Let us know if that works, k?

Hello ladies
It has been a while. I am now setting up my site.
I clicked on the link you provided to download fireftp and got this message
“FireFTP 1.0.6 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.0.15.”
Any ideas?

Try downloading from this link: http://fireftp.mozdev.org/ not sure if it’s the same one or not. You may need to update your firefox? If that doesn’t work come back and we’ll try something else.

You’ll have to use a different FTP then. Try this one: http://filezilla-project.org/
