Your first campaign is done, for now. You can always go back and take a look when you notice a sale and see if there’s something else you can do/add to make that campaign stronger. The key point of One Week Marketing is to keep moving forward, and work on more campaigns, so that’s what we’re going to get started with today.

Hi ladies
I have begun on campaign 2.
I have 3 questions:
1. My squidoo dashboard now shows the lens’ for campaign 2.
How do I access the dashboard for lens’ for campaign 1 in order to review stats?
2. Should the name I use on campaign 2 be the lensmaster name I used on campaign 1?
3. How do I access my lensmaster profile?
All the best,
Jay

Hi Jay -
YAY good job!!
To answer your questions:
1. You’ll have to log out of the new account and into the first one to see that campaign (good time to start a spreadsheet of your different account logins if you haven’t already)
2. Each new squidoo account will have it’s own lensmaster name - you can choose your “real name” through your bio area - sometimes you want your name connected to a campaign and sometimes you don’t.
3. Lensmaster profiles are accessed by clicking through the profile image on any lens. The link ends up looking like this:
http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/username
username= whatever you login with
Very proud of you!

Oop - someone’s username is actually “username” - lol.
Just ignore that page and replace your own in that part of the web address

Wow! PPG was right. Starting your second campaign IS a LOT easier than doing the first one! I am actually enjoying this second campaign! Woot!

Hi jackie and Andrea,
I am working on campaign 2 and 3 and I was wondering how important it was to have a separate squiddoo account util something starts making money and then trasnferring those lenses out.
Thanks,
Faye

It’s a personal choice really. I keep most of my lenses in one account ~ but PPG really advocates having different accounts for different campaign topics ~ so it’s really up to you.

Hi Jackie,
Another question. I know squiddoo is changing the rules soon and PPG does’t seem to think its going to be bad. I don’t know enough either way! LOL Anyway, I was thinking of adding an Amazon module to one of my lenses that goes with the main product I am selling in the links. Do you think that’s going to be too much?
Thanks for all of your great help!

Hi Faye,
The new changes really should not affect you at all if you’ve been building lenses as taught here.
I’m not sure I would add amazon products ~ only because it dilutes people clicking your “real” links.
You don’t want to offer people too many choices or they get confused on exactly what to do and a confused person never buys.
fun example: we were at walmart yesterday I was looking at little pools for Hanna because it’s really hot here. There were many choices all within a 10 dollar price range. I couldn’t make a choice so I finally just said forget it and walked away.
You don’t want that ~ you want to guide your reader right to the one action you want them to take.
However ~ you can always test it and see how it works ~ This is an art ~ not really a science and it takes some testing to see what converts/works.

Hi jackie,
We are suffering between TN and OK as we are moving-didn’t have to do the drive this time YEY!
And very hot both places.
I get your point. I will back off on the Amazon module.
Thanks,
Faye

I was wondering what do you look at changing, if anything when you have had 672 visits to a site and no conversions? Nada, Nothin…lol
The only affiliate program that turned out to be reliable was amazon.
Thanks

First I’d look at a couple things ~ not just the number of visitors you’ve had to the page but how many click outs and to where.
If you’re not getting clickouts ~ then I’d look at changing the on page content.
If you are getting clickouts ~ and you’ve had at least 200 clickouts to a product and haven’t made any sales then I’d think about swapping out products.

Okay that makes sense. I’ll have to give some thought to changing content on another lens. It’s had 164 visitors and 0 clickouts. Is it possible to be offering to much information to were they don’t really need the product then? I think sometimes I offer to much info..
Thanks

Hey Bernita,
Yeah that’s definitely a possibility ~ one thing I try to remember is helpful but incomplete ~
think about telling them the “what” in your lens ~ and leave the “how” for the product.
I have a hard time with giving too much too

Hi Jackie and Andrea,
Wasn’t sure where to post this question. Along the way it was mentioned by PPG, about doing a test lens with a product before actually doing a whole campaign. Then if you get some traffic/sales then start building.
My question is, how will one lens get any traffic if it doesn’t have all the backlinks to it?
Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Carole

It’s one lens instead of 6 but you still do all the link building to it just like you would a campaign.
the 3 ad blogs, rss, articles, blogger, and anything else you can come up with.

If we are starting a new campaign, should we start it with Squidoo, etc and wait til we get sales or should we start it with our own site?
Thanks,
C

You can do either ~ however, it’s kind of nice to start with Squidoo to see if the campaign has “legs” and will produce. IF it does then you can build from there, if it doesn’t, just let it be and start something else.

Hi Andrea,
I am into starting a new campaign.I have few questions to ask
.When I started my first campaign I just created a niche related account and not a general account. Can I use this as my general account?
. Since different email is needed for each campaign ,do I have to open a new paypal account every time I start a new campaign or campaigns?

Hi ladies,
I have a similar question as in post no.6. In case I need to transfer my lens to a new account, how do I do that?
Very much appreciate if you give me an answer to this one.You have not given an answer to my previous question posted just above.

Hi George -
Oops sorry the last questions slipped by - if there’s ever a delay of more than a day - please re-post, k?
Here’s a post by PPG re How to Transfer a Lens:
http://www.potpiegirl.com/2008/12/how-to-transfer-a-lens-video/
Yes you can use any account as your general account.
You’ll be fine with only one paypal account - you CAN add 5 or so other emails to the same paypal account should you want to - but it’s not necessary.
Sorry again for the delay
Andrea
