Has this happened to you? Your lens is chugging along, you are getting traffic, and then all of a sudden ~ BAM ~ out of no where your lens completely disappears from the listings. It’s fairly common and nothing to get discouraged about. Let’s talk about what you can do.

Hi Andrea & Jackie
Where do I find Digg and StumbleUpon. How do I bookmark the pages. Not sure of this.
Thanks
Andrea

Hi Andrea -
Here is the Digg submit link (you can submit your page and you can also ‘digg’ or vote for links that catch your eye - and your own):
http://digg.com/submit/
And here is the link for Stumbleupon (you install their toolbar and then give a thumbs up to whatever site you’re on:
http://www.stumbleupon.com/help/How_the_Toolbar_Works/
You’ll need an account for both and possibly Firefox for the toolbars, not sure - they might have IE versions too.

When lenses disappears, how is it being searched for?
I ask because mine are about 8 to 9 days published and backlinked and such. When I search for mine using ’site:’ ‘http://’ or ‘www.’ they come up. But if I test some of my keywords using quotes, forget it because I can’t find anything until maybe page 12.
So, when you say lenses disappear, how are they being searched for.
As usual,
Thanks a lot.
Jane.

Hi Jane -
If you can find them when you search the actual url in Google then you’re indexed (not ‘disappeared’).

Wow, then I’m good.
But if people search using any of my keywords how will they find my page? Because… when using the keywords that I have my pages tagged with, my pages take a dump.
I’m missing something here I guess.
Jane.

Hey Jane,
You aren’t missing anything. It takes time. That’s why we get through the campaign and then let it simmer, let Google find your links. Links are key to improving your search engine results ranking ~ so make sure you are using keyword anchor text links wherever you possibly can.

Hi Jackie and Andrea,
A couple of questions, I have about 55 views in my lenses with about 17 click thrus and aroudn 125 views on ezine article with 25 click thrus. No sales yet, but steady traffic. The new keywords are starting to come through. Should I be building lenses and writing articles on the new keywords? I have one lense that disppeared…should I be concentratin on that instead ….I guess my question as I ramble here is where to concetrate my efforts?
Thanks,
Faye

If you have finished the steps outlined in OWM for this campaign you should move on to another campaign and let this one simmer.
I’d say give it a month or so to simmer and see what happens. Giving it some time will give you DATA to see exactly what it’s doing. It will let you see which kw you are getting traffic to that might be worth looking into further.
the main concept of OWN is to create campaigns repeatedly over time so you have a lot of different virtual real estate to earn from.
Here’s a post PPG created that might be of interest.
