Do you gals really get all this done in one week? Must be full time at the computer if you do!
You are right about the writing getting easier, tho! Thankfully!

I’m not getting the lens roll bit. I don’t find the bookmark and share section/

  • 3 Jackie and Andrea // Mar 21, 2009 at 2:12 pm

You have to be on your actual site ~ not in edit mode ~ On the right hand side of the page about half way down you will find the lensroll smiley face as pictured above.

click it ~ it will ask you which lenses you want to add this lens too. Choose all related lenses and save.

This will put a link on your lenses back to this lens.

You have to go around the circle and do it for each lens so you will have links to all your lenses on all of your lenses.

Got a question about keywords in URLs.

I have been inserting dashes between the words of long tail keywords in the URLs.

    IE- celiac-disease-children

In terms of search engine pick up, would I get a better result without the dashes in the URL?

Google doesn’t “see” the dashes so you’re fine either way.

hello, I don’t know if you guys are up. I have a question. Today I got my first two traffic via natural search.

I got one form yahoo and the other from google. I want to enter a niche but their are no google ads anywhere for this keyword.

This keyword have lost of search but no ads. What do you think?

If you can find an affiliate program that is directly relevant to your keywords there’s no problem with putting one or more lenses up on the topic just to see how it does.

Might do one to start, and if you start getting traffic you can always build it out.

    Hi Jackie and Andrea,

Is it ok to add the rss feed for each article that you write. eg. I have just finished a different lens and my article is accepted so different lens different article but under the same auther name. But because I have already submitted the rss feed from before do I need to do it again.

    Hopefully that was clear enough.
    Thanks,
    Tammy

    Hi Tammy -

If they’re all on the same RSS feed - once is enough - that’s the cool thing about feeds, they update automatically :)

Hi I have a questions about the lenroll, is it possible to unroll a lens. I accidentally added a Squidoo lens to its own lensroll.

  • 11 Jackie and Andrea // Jun 3, 2009 at 3:22 pm

    Hi Judith -

I had to go look and see - grin. Doesn’t look like it, but it also does no harm either. Probably a good thing actually. It’s a keyword link :)

Just added blog to Zimbio.com. Don’t know why but my first several attempts to get to that site took me to a porn site! I thought this was a side of Jackie and Andrea that I hadn’t seen before!

Just did the lensroll thing. While I was on my lens, I noticed anchor text links that I didn’t put there. Like all of a sudden “cocktail party” is linked to Grey Goose Vodka and takes the viewer away from my site. What gives.

I am trying to twitter but cannot find out how to answer a direct message.

  • 16 Jackie and Andrea // Jul 5, 2009 at 5:57 pm

    Hi Linda -

You can only DM someone if they’re following you. You might try an @ reply - that’ll get their attention.

Start your tweet with @their-username and then a space then your message. You can test it on my account if you want to. Tweet this:

@agoodsaid testing tweets (or whatever) - then when you go to my page and click on the @agoodsaid on the right nav bar, you should see your tweet.

    Hi there,
I am trying to lensroll 3 of my squidoo lenses together, I have clicked on the smily face and it takes me to a screen, but doesn’t give me the option of selecting lenses to add, it only shows the one (and I have 3), when I hit continue, it says that I haven’t selected a lens to add.

Is there a glich in squidoo right now or is there a different way to do this with all the changes??

    Thanks for your help

  • 18 Jackie and Andrea // Sep 23, 2009 at 7:13 am

    Carole,

I just tried it on one of my lenses ~ when I clicked the smiley face I was given an entire list of the lenses in my account. They each had a box I could check in front of them. I’d say try again and see what happens. If you still experience problems send a bug report at Squidoo.

  • 21 Jackie and Andrea // Jun 1, 2010 at 12:34 pm

    Hi George -

There’s a ’submit your blog’ link on the top right of the home page of Zimbio:

    http://screencast.com/t/YjQzMDkwY

Just follow the screen prompts - be sure you have your feed url ready to paste :)
