Your text based modules should be completed now, you should have content and titles. These are the modules that will talk to your reader, and presell them on clicking your link. The non text modules will keep your reader’s interest and help move them through to the bottom of your lens. Let’s take a look at the non text modules you can use.

Hi Jackie, Andrea,
I have a few questions (to say the least) that I just wanted to ask about setting up lenses. I’m trying to finish my first one so that I know how to roll with it for the next one, and I have some questions below that I would really appreciate your help with.
Many thanks,
Pat
===========================
SQUIDOO LENS SET UP QUESTIONS
1. RSS: When I add an RSS feed (for blogs), if I’m not linking in my own blog and I’m linking in feeds from relevant blogs that other people have, doesn’t that run the risk that my lens visitor will go to that person’s blog, then maybe purchase something that THEY have promoted on their blog? (i.e. I lose a potential customer)
2. AMAZON: When setting an Amazon module on Lens, don’t I have to out in my ‘amazon associate’ link somewhere in that lens module? I was trying to add an amazon module but I couldn’t find the place where I would put my associate link and ID in. Mind you, I have an ID with amazon, but I don’t even know where to get my ‘link’.
3. YOUTUBE: If I add a youtube module, what video goes in there? I mean, I can look on youtube for videos related to what I am promoting on my Lens, but if I am marketing an affiliate product, the only thing I usually find on youtube is videos from other people promoting related affiliate products. So if I put a link on my lens to one of their videos, don’t I run the risk of my lens visitor watching the video and then going to the other person’s web site to buy THEIR affiliate product? I saw that you posted your own video of the turkey being fried. Is that the best way to do videos, i.e. create and post your own?
4. I checked out your ‘Deep Fry Turkey – How to deep fry a turkey safely” lens (looks great by the way) and I noticed that you have amazon products promoted right beside the text in several modules. Are these amazon modules with your content added in (and if so, which amazon modules, because there are several to choose from), and if not, how did you get the relevant amazon products positioned and promoted beside your text content?
5. I like your use of multiple talk bubbles, looks great.
6. Also, at the bottom of your lens you have a nice “did you follow these instructions?” closing remark. I take it that is the comments/feedback module?
7. Finally, I noticed at the top and bottom of your lens that google put some ads there. Is that done automatically or is that something you can turn on/off?
8. I also noticed on the right side of the screen you have two things that caught my attention:
8a. You have a “TurkeyFryingQueen Recommends” section – I take it you basically ‘recommend’ your other lens – correct?
8b. You have a “Bookmark and Share” section with links to Twitter, Stumble, Facebook, etc. – are these put in there automatically or do you add them yourself and if you do, is there any specific configuration required for each site (twitter, stumble, etc.)?
Sorry for all of the very basic and silly questions, but I’m trying to figure out how to configure these modules for monetization, and I want to keep my lens visitor’s attention on MY lens, not send them somewhere else to buy someone else’s product. I looked through the One Week Marketing materials but I just can’t find enough details in there to help me understand these modules.
Also, in my text modules, I have hyperlinked specific keyword phrases to my affiliate program squeeze page. I’m also going to put in and customize talk bubbles, maybe a black box, one or two big arrows and an orange box with a picture of the affiliate product (& link) that I am promoting. Does this sound about right to you?
2 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 6, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Yowza Pat!
Ok, let’s go one by one and I’ll see what I can do to answer your questions.
1. Never put an RSS feed that leads to something other than YOUR stuff on your lens. Later you will be creating a blogger blog you can come back and add the RSS from that blog in your lens. You are right you don’t want to lead people to someone else’s links.
2. You do not have to use your own affiliate links. (you can ~ but you have to get the code form Amazon). Squidoo does it all for you. The commissions from Amazon will show up in your dashboard, so you can look there to see if you’ve made sales. If you are not making many sales through amazon your commission rate will be about the same either way.
4. For the ones I used Amazon ads instead of images I went through squidutils.com to do this. I put in my lensmaster ID and then grabbed the ISBN number of the product off amazon and put it in the space provided. Then I grabbed the code and added it in a text module, where I wanted it to show up.
You can also use the amazon spotlight module to do something very similar.
3. Actually I didn’t make that video, I found it on youtube. If you go in the Amazon module you will see the third tab at the top will give you some options of what you want to show from the actual video. I delete all the extra stuff, and just have the video. Then in my description area of the module I put a link to my product (with anchor text keywords). It’s much easier for people to click than it is for them to remember a web address and put it in the box.
You can also think about something similar to your topic ~ it may not be the specific product. but let’s say I’m doing my turkey fry thing and I find a video that shows you how to read a meat thermometer~ there ya go. That’s related but doesn’t sell someone else’s product. Does that make sense?
5. Thanks ~ I don’t use them all the time, but sometimes I really like them.
6. yes, that’s the guestbook module, I just used a different title.
7. y es squidoo does that for you and depending on the lensrank of your lenses you get a shared portion of that income.
8a. That is the lensroll and will be discussed in another post in detail.
8. Squidoo does that automatically on every lens. You don’t have to do anything ~ it’s for other people who want to tell others about your lens. ~ they are the ones that will use those buttons.
No problem with all the questions, that’s what we are here for.
I would not put in more than one big arrow link, and I would keep it at the bottom. It’s your last ditch call to action.
If people are looking for your affiliate product specifically that sounds fine. I personally don’t find that to be the case very often. So I try to figure out what the problem is people are trying to solve (that my affiliate product can help them solve) and talk to them about that in the lens, not necessarily about my product, but overcoming the problem.
PotPieGirl does a good job of going over this with Nick in Conversations with Nice where they talk about golf vs curing your slice.
Hope this helps, anything that’s not clear please ask more questions.

Jackie! Thanks a million! Holy smokes, your answers are a huge help pal.
I know I’m still in the “slowly starting to get it but still kinda dumb” stage of the evolutionary line for newbies on this, so your input REALLY helps a lot.
Thanks for the patience and understanding.
Talk to you soon,

5 Sheila Newman // Feb 8, 2009 at 8:30 am
Hi. On the big arrow link do I type in the words “My Keywords” or my actual keywords? Thanks.
6 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 8, 2009 at 9:09 am
your actual keywords.
Jackie
7 Sheila Newman // Feb 12, 2009 at 3:41 pm
Are the YouTube videos copyrighted? Do I have to ask permission to use them or can I just use any video in my lens without asking?
Also what is the html code so that when someone moves the mouse over a certain word it can take them to that website?
Thanks I’m learning a lot.
Sheila.
8 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 12, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Hey Sheila,
Thanks for the questions. YouTube is a video sharing site, so no you do not have to ask for permission. By submitting their videos to the site people are automatically giving you permission to use them.
If you check on post #20 you will find at the bottom the code to make a hot link on your lens.
It doesn’t show up as code in the comments section, it just shows up as the link ~ or I’d put it here again.

Good morning,
I wanted to BOLD my key words at the bottom of my intro section of my lens like you said, but I cannot find the bold icon within my web site.
Can you help me
Thanks
10 TY EVANS // Feb 14, 2009 at 6:28 am
Can you tell me how to find a few of the lenes that you put together. I would like to see how a final lens looks with all the non text.
I don’t know why but I have trouble finding lenses, if I don’t know what to ask in the search field how else could I find a lens from you, potpie or even find a lens that is related to my campaign.
Thanks
11 TY EVANS // Feb 14, 2009 at 6:36 am
Hello,
If I am promoting a product from clickbank, is it just like the example you used with amazon, I have to copy the link from clickbank to my big arrow?
If someone clicks on the link it will bring them to the web site to buy the product, do I have to add more so I make sure I get paid.
Thanks
12 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 14, 2009 at 7:57 am
Hi Ty -
Try this page for “bold” example:
http://www.ironspider.ca/format_text/fontstyles.htm#bold
(I searched “bold in html” on Google if you want to find more like this)
Here is the “fry a turkey” lens:
http://www.squidoo.com/deep-fry-turkey-instructions (I just found it by searching “fry a turkey” in the search field on Squidoo)
The link you want to use to point at Clickbank (or any affiliate product) is the ‘hoplink’ with your username in it. On the bottom of page 31 in OWM, PPG explains how to double check that your links are being credited to you.

If my lens does not have a step by step guide like yours, do I have to give it a title in each of the modules?
Also, sorry if I missed this, but where do I get the bubble
15 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 14, 2009 at 9:29 am
Yes it is very important to have your keywords in your module titles. PotPieGirl discusses this throughout the main guide and her conversation with Nick.
This is basic search engine optimization and is a basic rule for any website.
To find any module just go to the “add modules” button and look around. You can check the “all modules” area and check the letter the module starts with.
So for talk bubble you would check in the T area. ~ Some of the modules start with THE so if you can’t find it where you think it should be check under T for the ~ the most important thing module is like that.
There are TONS of modules in Squidoo. They add more all of the time. it would serve you well to look through all the modules, check them out, get creative, see how you can use them in some of your lenses.
Different niches/topics will be better served by different modules, so make sure you look around and see what all is offered. The info I have given you is simply the basics to get you started ~ there’s tons more available.
Again ~ this is a creative process, there are no right or wrong answers. Play around, have fun, see what works, if something doesn’t work, it can always be changed.

Hi Jackie and Andrea!
In “A Conversations With Nick”, pp 43-44, PPG talks about taking images from the sales letter and putting them on the sidebar of the lens and making them ‘clickable’. I’m not understanding how to do this. Can you give me more detail or make a video and show me how to do this? Also, in the main guide PPG talks about taking the thing that pops up from the sales page where people sign up for the newsletter and putting it on the lens so that people can sign up for the newletter of your product on your lens instead of the sales page. Can you explain/show me how she does this?
Thank you,
-Rebecca.
p.s. I know this is a tall order but i *really* want to do these two things on my lenses!

The answer was pretty long so we created a whole new post.

18 Jackie and Andrea // Apr 11, 2009 at 10:54 am
People can’t sign up to your newsletter through this method. But when they click the image to sign up it will take them to the sales page and be cookied to your link.
That’s what she was talking about in the book. She got that trick from Squidoo Cash Machine

I would like to make a comment about using videos from YouTube.
Before you put a video on your lens; watch the video. Many of these videos have a clickable link that appears on the screen.
If you watch a video and see text. Click on the text to see if it takes you away from YouTube and to another website. I would recommend NOT using those videos.
21 Jackie and Andrea // May 2, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Hi Rebecca -
True enough - not all do but you’ll want to watch the whole thing - or make your own.
Good tip
Andrea
22 Tammy Smith // May 4, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Hi Jackie and Andrea,
I was wondering if you are able to make an image clickable and have that image take you to your sales page?
I was just thinking that if you put images in your non text module that a person viewing your lens may like that specific item that you are displaying so why not make it clickable.
Thanks
Tammy
23 Jackie and Andrea // May 4, 2009 at 3:26 pm
Tammy,
It depends on the module. Some you can and some you can’t. It depends if you can use html in the module, and if there are enough characters available for all the code you will need.
You can always use a link shortener service like http://www.tinyurl.com to make your links shorter if you have limited characters in the module.
You can absolutely do this in “the most important thing” module, and I believe ~ but could be wrong ~ you can do it in sticky note.
Test ‘em out, see what they’ll do for ya.

I can’t find anything in this lesson or on squidoo about what to do if the video you want to post is MPEG-4. I have tried to put in the url, but that doesn’t work. There is no module I can find for ipods. I want to post a video from my product. Should I see if they can help me?
25 Jackie and Andrea // May 6, 2009 at 6:49 pm
nope there isn’t one unless it is in the “video module” ~ not sure which that covers.
You best bet is to find something related on youtube. You can make the description invisible in the youtube module.
Jackie
26 Linda Servis // May 7, 2009 at 2:51 pm
1. My vendor provided a utube url and it worked for the video. Thanks for the idea to work with new vendors, they are very helpful.
2. I can’t find the big box with the orange frame–I have looked thru all the modules. Where is it?? I have a yummy image to put in.
27 Linda Servis // May 7, 2009 at 2:57 pm
Dah, never mind. I just started lesson 21A and I see the box is actually called “the most important thing”. Didn’t get that at first.
28 Hector Cancio // May 15, 2009 at 9:21 am
Ok, I see that it makes sense to use a full sized video screen shot for a video module, keeping my visitor on my page, instead of straying.
I looked around and couldn’t figure out where to enable that feature.
Any info. on HOW that is done???
29 Jackie and Andrea // May 15, 2009 at 9:37 am
Hi Hector -
When you open the Youtube video module to edit it there are a couple of tabs on the bottom section - one is display options.
You can see what it looks like here:
YouTube Vids Module Screen Capture
Just un-tick any of the boxes that are causing info to display that you don’t want.

I have been looking at YouTube videos trying to find some to add to my lenses. Most of them had additional ad’s that pop up, will this show up on my lens if I use this video? If so, is there a way to sort through to not waste time on the videos that have ad’s on them?
Also, can you use any video on YouTube?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Carole -
I’m afraid the only way to see how a video will ‘act’ on your lens is to try it and see it in action.
Yes you can use anything that’s been uploaded to youtube.
Realize that a video is not a MUST - if it’s holding you up, break up the text modules with something else visual and get that campaign to completion.
I guess I’m just slow learner, so please don’t regard these questions as dumb!
1. I have a GoDaddy domain plus my reserved Squidoo URLs. Were I to decide to use a different medium to Squidoo (EzineArticles just as an example. Or even PPC, which I’m not); to identify what is/is not working for me, do I need a different domain, and I guess, a different email address and separate Clickbank a/c, for each medium?
2. I don’t totally understand the terms ‘anchor text’ and ‘opt-in’. Could you define them for me?
3. On page 23 of PotPieGirls OWM. She says, ‘take a screen shot and use Paint to crop it’.
I’ve never done this and she doesn’t tell me how to do it. Should I look for the info somewhere, or do you cover the process somewhere? Then she she says ‘upload it to PhotoBucket.com and use it …’. Is PB a good place to upload images from such places as image libraries like Dreamstime, or words from websites, that I want to use in my Squidoo lenses. I’ve had a good look at the PB site and I guess they tell me (if I can understand their lingo) how to upload and download. Or should I use something like my Clipboard (which I’ve never used but am prepared to learn how.
4. Also, with PhotoBucket, am I free to use the images on their site?
Sorry to be so long-winded, but these queries have been on my mind for a few days now.
Thanks for your continuing, great help.
35 Jackie and Andrea // May 23, 2009 at 7:05 am
Hiya Russell -
Slow and steady
1- I would say probably not.
2 - Optin = people subscribe to an email list
Anchor text = the actual keywords used for a clickable link
3 - We teach on #21a with Jing
4 - Maybe ask that on #21a so we stay kind of on topic for the posts?
5 - ditto
Once again, thanks for your help.
I’m now having trouble with the Big Arrow. I’ve watched the video and perhaps what I’m trying to do can’t be done? For my product I have a great ‘flashing lights’ banner, complete with html, which takes the clicker straight to the product website, complete with my affiliate link.
I’m trying to put the banner in place in the Arrow but it has 2 lines of html, the 1st called ‘pages’ which has the URL, the 2nd being ‘images’ which I assume to be the banner.
I’ve tried putting both lines into the URL slot, but only the 1st line appears; no banner, just my Keywords which I put in the appropriate slot as per your video (which are not clickable). The Keywords also appear away from the Arrow, top left cnr of the panel. Hope this is not all to confusing without you actually seeing it. Trust you can help me.
RUSSELL
37 Jackie and Andrea // May 24, 2009 at 10:09 pm
Hi Russell -
Try pasting the entire banner code into a text module. You’re trying to make the big arrow do something it’s not set up to do.
Andrea
38 Russell Hart // May 25, 2009 at 2:17 am
I had tried putting the banner into a text module following the Big Arrow module and it works fine! But how do I get rid of the underscored words ‘My Keywords’ under ‘Here’s my favourite link:’. Do I have to put my keywords in?
It’s possibly all too hard and I’m doing what you say … trying to make the Arrow do things it not designed to do.
Perhaps I should use the ‘Most Important Thing’ orange box instead?
Look forward to your comments.
Regards
RUSSELL
39 Jackie and Andrea // May 25, 2009 at 7:01 am
Yes if you want to use the big arrow - put your keywords in that spot.
And yes, if it’s not working for you find something else that will. Don’t let yourself get too hung up on this stuff
And experiment! It’s the fastest way to learn - grin.
Hi, I’m back about the banner! Because I originally signed on direct with the merchant as an affiliate, I just realised that the link built into the banner is the affilate link given me by the merchant. So I copied the 1st line of the html, deleted the affiliate link bit and replaced it with my masked C/B hoplink. Was the the correct thing to do? And is there anyway I can check to be sure that it’s masked C/B hoplink that working for me?
You mentioned drag and drop to reorder modules and it worked on a couple of my lenses but not on all of them. It wont move the title up or down. I have more lenses that it wont reorder the modules than I do that it will. And idea why? Just a Squidoo glitch perhaps? Or is there a specific fix?
Hi Jackie & Andrea,
This got to be the most enjoyable part of lens creation. It can be quite addictive.
Thanks for the content on this thread - I love the post-it-note, the bubble and the boxes - without showing me your lens I wouldn’t know they exist.
And, of course there’s the videos. I spent so much time picking them. Only thing I don’t like is the related videos that come at the end of the video I selected. How do I get rid of those?
Once again, thanks!
52 Jackie and Andrea // Jul 22, 2009 at 9:10 am
HI Greg,
Glad you’re enjoying the content ~ those non text modules are fun and add so much to a lens!
Not sure what you mean by the related videos at the end? You are using the youtube module right, and just putting the url in for the video you want people to see?
If you choose full size in the options area of the module you should only show the one video.
You can also look in the other tab at the top of the module and click off other information you don’t want to show ~ like description or the title, running time etc.
HTH,
Jackie
53 Jackie and Andrea // Jul 22, 2009 at 10:06 am
Hi Greg -
Re. the related videos that appear at the end of a youtube video - there is a way to turn them off on other sites, but I think not on Squidoo.
There’s a box you ‘un-tick’ on the embed code to make that so.
As far as I know (could be wrong) there’s no way to enter the (modified) embed code to call the video onto a Squidoo lens.
Sounds like you’re making great progress!
Andrea
54 Breakthroughguy // Jul 23, 2009 at 2:00 am
Hi Jackie & Andrea,
I still can’t find a way to do away with those related videos of youtube.
Jackie, the related videos are the trail of videos that moves left and right as you hover your mouse over them at the foot of the video the moment it stops playing.
The problem is that the visitor now has a stream of videos to watch and get carried away.
When you click on any one of them, the video start playing on the squidoo page itself but when you click again it will open up on youtube.
I checked out the videos on other squidoo lenses and they are there too. But not on Nick’s or your fry a turkey lens.
Andrea, you are probably right about the embed thing. At Youtube, by default the enable related videos is left unchecked as you click on ‘customize embed’.
Thanks for trying to help me though. If you learn anything otherwise, please let me know.
Greg
55 Breakthroughguy // Jul 23, 2009 at 5:20 am
Is it advisable to have 2 videos on 1 lens?
I happened to find 2 videos which go along very well with the text contents of 2 of the modules.
I do not want to lose sight of my main objective of getting the visitor to click through to the sales page.
What you think?
Greg
Greg,
Having 2 videos should be fine ~ try it and see what happens. If you find it doesn’t work then take it out.
You have to have a blog/site with RSS to add to the RSS module. If you have added the rss address of a blog to the module then click the refresh button and see if it works then.
All the other stuff happens when you publish your lens.
Not sure what very small photo you mean.
Hi Jackie, Andrea: on your lens on how to fry a turkey, the image showing the pot and the square that reads buy from Amazon. I know there is a lesson about how to get this image out of the sale page. Can you tell me again which lesson is that? Also do you have a lesson on how to build a website? Thank you.
60 Jackie and Andrea // Dec 10, 2009 at 12:05 am
you can make those amazon images at Squidutils.com. I’m not sure which lesson it’s in. Month 2 will show you how to build wordpress sites. check the lessons link at the top of the page to get to the lessons you are looking for.
My affiliate link is http://www.whatnottofeeddog.info where do I replace it in my HTML link? Thanks.
Can’t seem to get the HTML code in…
64 Jackie and Andrea // Dec 11, 2009 at 8:18 pm
You have to use different code to make the image clickable. Here it is: http://screencast.com/t/NDRhNGYzZ
Hi Jackie & Andrea,
I just noticed “How To Fry A Turkey” lens has a nice sized picture in the intro area. I have been using the “add a picture” option which comes when in edit mode automatically.
How do I get larger picture into a module? Is this another module type choice?
Thanks.
Laura,
I used the browse thing to add that image. It’s the only way to add an image ~ might check the size of the image you are uploading ~
Hi Jackie,
What do you mean by the “browse thing”?
I guess going to SquidU will help me spruce up the lenses? I see so much out there in other lenses I do not know how to do.
But as you and Andrea have pointed out, this is just a rough sketch. No need to make it perfect.
Thanks.
the browse thing and the “add a picture” thing you mentioned are the same thing. I was just saying I did exactly what you did ~ I may have used a larger image though.
Hi Jackie and Andrea
Iwant to use multiple products from amazon.com for my single Keyword.But the big arrow option doesnt seem to have space for different html codes.So is it limited for single product only.
70 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 4, 2010 at 6:21 am
Hi George -
You could create an Amazon ‘astore’ , select the products that you want to present and link to that.
Details are here:
Will this work for our wordpress.org blogs? One of my blogs is for a clickbank product, and one of my KW’s on this blog is for the necessary accessories/tools for putting the item together. Would like to not only refer to the clickbank product but would also like to link to the additional items needed at Amazon.
????????????
Thanks
72 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 6, 2010 at 2:35 pm
Hi Carole -
Sure - Amazon has lots of widget and product link choices for you to add to a blog.
You’ll need to have your associates account set-up first, then when you login to Amazon - go to the product page and click the grey bar at the top of your screen. Links are there
Can we have the same video or poll or pictures or whatever in each lens? Or should each lens be different? What if I can’t find 6 different relevant videos? Thx…
74 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 24, 2010 at 8:37 am
If you can’t find enough related videos to go around I’d say it’s ok to use the same video. I would make the rest of the content unique to the lens however. Each lens will be a little different so it will require different content.
I have 2 questions. First, some of the YouTube vids I’m picking are for real estate for sale or rent that happen to show my product. After the real estate sells, will they pull the video and I’ll be left with a dead link? Are all the YouTube videos there forever? Second and unrelated, do you know how long the Amazon affiliate link is good for? For example, if they use it and don’t buy anything, but come back the next day via another route, like direct to Amazon, would I still get credit? Or would they have to buy having only come directly from my link at that time?
76 Jackie and Andrea // Feb 28, 2010 at 5:22 am
Hi Gary -
1. It’s unlikely that anyone would bother to remove past videos - though they certainly would have the ability to if they wanted to.
2. Amazon cookies only last for 24 hours. (as far as I know) - best way to find out for sure about topic like this is to Google it.
They call affiliates ‘associates’ - so I would Google “amazon associate cookies”
Hope that helps,
Andrea
Is there a way when using a You Tube module to prevent a pop up ad from appearing during the video and related link video boxes from appearing at the conclusion of the video.
Thanks very much
78 Jackie and Andrea // Mar 1, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Hi Larry -
As far as I know - there’s no way to turn off the ads on videos.
But turning off the related videos on the last screen is easy.
Here’s a video:
Was there supposed to be audio with that video? It looked at the end like you were copying some code but not sure what you were doing with it…thanks!
80 Gary Materra // Mar 2, 2010 at 1:58 am
I tried unselecting the related videos as the video showed, then copied the embedded code to my lens and the resulting video STILL had the related videos at the end.
81 Jackie and Andrea // Mar 2, 2010 at 7:59 am
Hi Gary -
We’ve had another report of this happening.
I tested an embed code on my blog for him and no related videos - he took same code into squidoo and bam - related videos.
Seems it *might* be something on the Squidoo side overriding that setting.
Might ask them - also might just not sweat it and forge ahead. Marketing and backlinking your content is the most important thing at this point.
Hope this helps,
Andrea
Hi Adie -
Replace this bit in that html:
inflatawatert-20″ rel=”nofollow
With the url that you want it to take them to.
Andrea
84 Adrienne Lecky // Nov 9, 2010 at 1:58 pm
Sorry Andrea, I dont understand which bit exactly - inflatawatert-20 is my affiliate link so i cant take that out. Also I am not very html savvy
85 Adrienne Lecky // Nov 9, 2010 at 2:18 pm
ok I have got it to go to click throught to the page i want but all of the amazon links including the ones that are under the amazon module, when you click on them they go to the correct page but my name comes up on the profile and also it says (not Adie Lecky?) Is it supposed to do this? Is it suppose to be seen by others as my profile?
86 Jackie and Andrea // Nov 9, 2010 at 2:45 pm
That’s because you’re logged into your amazon account. If I was to click the link it would say “not Jackie?”. That’s what it’s supposed to be ~ you’re good to go.
Jackie
87 Adrienne Lecky // Nov 9, 2010 at 3:19 pm
so if a buyer comes along will they see that too? and if they do would they not get confused and log out? sorry this seems like a really dumb question
88 Jackie and Andrea // Nov 9, 2010 at 4:35 pm
It only happens if someone is logged into their amazon account. It’s account personalization by amazon ~ so it shows me all the things I’ve looked at in the past etc ~ but it says “not Jackie” so if it’s not me ~ then I can do something about it.
They will not get confused because they will be logged into their amazon account ~ and it will look like it always looks to them.
Jackie
89 Adrienne Lecky // Nov 9, 2010 at 4:41 pm
So just to be clear when they click on a link in my lens and buy something - my affiliate link will be tracked, and they will be logged into their profile and wont see “not adie”
90 Jackie and Andrea // Nov 9, 2010 at 4:49 pm
yes.
91 Adrienne Lecky // Nov 9, 2010 at 4:51 pm
thanks sorry to be so slow at getting it
92 Jackie and Andrea // Nov 9, 2010 at 4:53 pm
no problem ~ you see that because you’re logged into your amazon account. IF you click a link to amazon from one of my lenses you would still see the “not adie” at the top because you’re still logged into your account ~ the link is mine. the account is yours.
It’s all good.
Jackie
